Current obsession.

My current obsession is pointed nails, I think they perfectly stand out from normal nails, especially when you accessorise them like I have with my nails below:

 White with nail caviar.

Yellow and black polka dot nails with a cute yellow bow.

Simple hot pink nails.

My breast cancer awareness nails, pink with caviar and the ribbon.

Pretty pink pointed nails with highlighted glitter sequins.

Ciaté nail caviar - £2.50 eBay or you can get them from Topshop.
Fake pointed nails - £3.75 eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120-CLEAR-CUSP-STILETTO-Full-Cover-Point-False-Nails-Fast-Dispatch-/331069994525?pt=Nail_Polish&hash=item4d154f361d

Practice makes perfect.

I have recently been loving these fake fingers to practice nail art on, I think they are perfect for when you don't want to waste your time re-doing your nails to get them right and they are really useful to people who are just learning how to do nail art.

With these false fingers it makes nail art more simple to do because they have a sticker on the bottom, which means you can stick them wherever you like. I think a table is the best place to stick these to because its a flat surface and you have plenty of space to move around it so your not restricted to a certain area.

You can buy these amazing model tips on eBay, just simply go to the search bar and type 'false finger'. You get 5 plastic model tips for just £2.38, which is a great bargain!

I decorated my false fingers with mini converse shoes. It is a simple design to do once you know how to do it. Follow the simple instructions below to perfect the cute converse look:

  • Paint the full nail, any colour you like.
  • After that paint a small part of the tip white.
  • Then draw 3 dots on the left and right, once they have dried go over with black dots.
  • When those have dried, join up the dots with white, that will create a lace look.
  • Finally draw a black semi circle around the white at the bottom and your done!

Temporary henna tattoo's and false nails.

My current obsessions are henna tattoos and Primarks own range of false nails.

For just £1 you can get a set of false nails already decorated with different designs. They are perfect for when you are in a rush and quickly want to give your nails a special touch.

I think these nails go especially well with my henna tattoo.

I have found that you can now go to some local hairdressers and get these done which I think is amazing!

For small henna tattoos like mine they cost about £5, which I think is really cheap.

The length of sitting time ranges from 5 to 10 minutes for a simple design. Although the painting itself may take only a few minutes, the paste needs to be preserved with a lemon-sugar solution which the artist applies after the paste becomes firm on the skin about 15 minutes later.

After the paste comes off, the stain color ranges from orange to a dark reddish brown.

The design will look good for 1 to 2 weeks, fading gradually within that time. They seem to fade quicker when exposed to water, chemicals and rubbing.

Unlike tattoos, henna does not hurt because there are no needles used and the skin is not broken. Henna is applied to the top of the skin with an applicator. The henna paste is an all natural soothing, aromatic mixture that conditions the skin.

Retro orange nail tutorial.

6 simple steps to help you design your very own retro nails.

I chose to use models own Fluro' orange nail polish. When I think of the word retro the colours orange and green always come to mind, so I thought it would be a perfect colour to use for this nail art.

Orange is a colour that really stands out, even at a distance, and invites attention.

Spring nails.

These long yellow nails are bound to brighten up your day.

Yellow in general is associated with sun and warmth; it's so visible that you can't ignore it.

Spring is here and its time to bring out the colours, yellow is my favourite for this time of year, although most people are put off by the bright colour, if you find the right polish then you'll be able to perfect these cute spring nails.

I used false nails so I could have extra long claws, I found on eBay that you can buy 500 for just £3! Which was a really good bargain and you can also cut them down to make pointed nails.

For these nails I used OPI nail lacquer, and also got a lighter shade of yellow just to give it a light fade at the tips.

I accessorised my index finger with a cute pastel blue bow with pink polka dots. I got these bows from eBay and you get 20 for just £2!

Minion nails.

These Despicable Me nails are fun, easy and creative to do. All you have to do is follow the steps below to perfect the minion look:

  • Paint all nails except from your middle finger nail. I chose models own 'Prussian blue nail polish' (it looks a lot darker on the image than it does normally) I chose this dark blue because I thought it worked well with the bright yellow, and helps it stand out more.
  • You then paint your middle finger with a bright yellow, again I chose models own because its a long lasting nail polish and the yellow I chose is called 'Aciiied nail polish'.
  • Once all nails are dry give them another coat of polish.
  • When you have finally finished adding your extra coat of nail polish you can then start on your main design.
  • Paint about a quarter of the end of your nail a dark blue to match the others, make sure you do a couple of coats as it can sometimes look green when you first do it.
  • Then when you have done that start at the top paint a white circle, again make sure to go over it so the white polish stands out. Don't worry if you don't have a perfect circle you can always correct it later.
  • When the circle is dry carefully paint a grey circle around it.
  • After that draw to black lines either side of the grey circle and a line underneath the circle which will make the mouth you can either do it straight, wonky or even draw a little tongue to give it character. Also don't forget to draw a small black circle in the middle of the white circle to complete the eye.
